The Assyrian Church of the East Relief Organization is a non-for-profit organization that exists to help Assyrians who are in desperate need. Due to decades of ongoing descrimination and persecution, they have been pushed out of their homes and villages, forced to settle down in new countries, usually as illegal immigrants. There is no safe place for them to plant roots and thrive, and the ACERO exists to bring light to this darkness, provide relief to as many people as possible, and to let the world know of their suffering.
Most recently, ACERO marked it’s 4th year of a campaign to assist 49 Assyrian families in Turkey who suffer from chronic disease, disability, or terminal illness. In a situation that is dark for these families, they have worked tirelessly to bring light the past four years.
Many Assyrians who once lived in Turkey have fled to other parts of the Middle East and the world, leaving only a small number remaining. Those who have stayed struggle to survive and hope they will see a day where their people can resettle the land peacefully.
Providing financial assistance to these families, ACERO has worked to alleviate the daily stress and suffering of these families by partnering with local supporters and the local church. A local supporter recently shared, “… no words can describe the joy in our hearts at the magnificent job that ACERO is doing for the people. Thank you ACERO for the huge help that you provided for the people over the years”
The wonderful people of ACERO are making an impact and bringing light to darkness, peace to the restless, and hope to the suffering, and this is just one example of the many ways they are doing so. If you would like to contribute financially, it would be a wonderful gift – just visit www.theacero.org and become a supporter. And also continue to pray with me for the ACERO, the Assyrian people, and for peace throughout the region.
